I’m Dan Pineau, a 29‑year Nevadan and longtime Nye County resident who has spent nearly three decades serving and protecting this county. I began my law‑enforcement career with the Nye County Sheriff’s Office in 1999, working every corner of one of the largest counties in America—from Smoky Valley and Tonopah to Beatty, Amargosa, and Pahrump. I know these communities because I’ve lived in them, worked in them, and protected them.
Over the years, I’ve served as a Deputy Sheriff, EMT, NCSO S.W.A.T. member, and K‑9 handler. My work in drug interdiction led to major narcotics and cash seizures, including the largest drug‑money seizure in county history. I’ve earned multiple commendations, including recognition from the NYPD Detectives Endowment Association for assisting in a multi‑state money‑laundering investigation.
My service continued with the Nevada Highway Patrol and later Nevada Parole & Probation, where I supervised Drug Court in the Fifth Judicial District. Across every role, my focus has been the same: protecting our communities, supporting victims, and holding offenders accountable.
Nye County is my home. Pahrump is where I live, work, and plan to spend the rest of my life. I have deep roots and strong relationships from Round Mountain to Belmont to Pahrump, and I’m committed to being a Sheriff who serves every community in this county
